QC Section Manager (Hylife Global Food)

Position Overview

The QC Section Manager is responsible for overseeing and controlling the entire quality control process within the food manufacturing plant, including regular on-site inspections to ensure that the products produced meet the company’s quality standards, legal requirements, and customer expectations. This role requires expertise in food production processes and includes responsibility for product inspection and testing both during and after production.

Responsibilities

  1. Quality Control Management:
    • Oversee and manage the inspection and testing of product quality throughout the entire production process, ensuring compliance with
      established standards.
    • Perform regular on-site inspections of the production floor to monitor product quality and production processes.
    • Ensure finished products meet the required standards for safety, quality, and specifications.
  2. Coordination with Other Departments:
    • Collaborate with the production department and other relevant departments to ensure that all production processes comply with quality
      standards.
    • Work closely with the QA department to ensure that products meet both internal and external quality and safety standards.
  3. Team Management:
    • Lead and manage the QC team, including training, development, and performance evaluations.
    • Ensure that quality control inspections and assessments are carried out effectively and efficiently within the department.
  4. Quality Issue Investigation and Resolution:
    • Investigate quality issues that arise during production, such as defective products or deviations from standards.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address and prevent recurring quality issues.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare and maintain reports on quality control inspections and product testing results.
    • Record data from quality checks, testing results, and actions taken in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  6. Continuous Improvement:
    • Regularly review and analyze the quality control processes to identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the quality control system and ensure compliance with the latest standards.
  7. Compliance with Regulations and Standards:
    • Ensure that the QC department complies with food safety standards and legal requirements, such as HACCP, GMP, and BRC certifications.
      Assist in preparation for external audits and assessments to maintain industry standards and certifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in quality control in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food quality standards, including HACCP, GMP, BRC, and food safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills related to quality issues.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop the team.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office and quality control software systems.
