Job Summary:
As an Export Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and expanding our international sales operations. You will work closely with the sales team to develop and implement strategies that maximize revenue and market share in global markets. Your primary goal will be to grow sales by identifying new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and effectively leading a team of international sales professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement international sales strategies that align with the organization’s business objectives and global trade requirements.
- Monitor international trade trends and regulatory changes, adapting strategies as necessary.
- Analyze competitor activities and stay informed about industry developments.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for international markets.
- Set sales targets and KPIs for the team, and continuously monitor progress.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of all necessary export documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other relevant paperwork.
- Ensure strict compliance with international trade regulations, customs laws, and trade sanctions.
- Cost Management:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation providers and logistics partners to optimize costs.
- Monitor and manage import/export expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks related to International sales operations, such as currency fluctuations, compliance issues, and geopolitical factors.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Customer Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and distributors.
- Resolve customer issues and address inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the international sales team.
- Provide training and guidance to ensure team members meet their sales targets.
- Reporting:
- Generate regular sales reports and analysis to evaluate performance.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- Proven experience in international sales and business development.
- Medical product knowledge background will be the advantage.
- Strong understanding of export regulations, logistics, and supply chain.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
- Analytical thinking and proficiency in market research.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant sales tools.
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge and experience in Customs Brokerage or International Trade.
- Knowledge and experience in Medical Products.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Multilingual capabilities, especially in languages relevant to trade partners.
Working Conditions:
This position may require occasional travel and irregular working hours to accommodate international time zones or address urgent shipment issues.
